With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jason Eric Little, 36, of Crystal, Michigan, who left us unexpectedly on December 4, 2025. Jason was born on February 25, 1989, in Lansing, Michigan, to Rick and Chris Little. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and a beloved brother who touched the lives of all who knew him. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many students he mentored over his career.
Jason was widely loved for his kind and generous spirit. He had an infectious personality, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a kind word, or brighten someone’s day with his laughter. Whether he was coaching young minds in the classroom, sharing a laugh with friends, or spending time with his family, Jason brought joy to every room he entered. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
A passionate educator, Jason spent 12 years making a lasting impact on the lives of students in Ionia Public Schools. After earning his degree in education and history from Central Michigan University, where he also pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon and met his future wife, Ashley Reisbig, Jason dedicated himself to helping his students succeed. He taught history and social studies before becoming the Principal of Douglas R. Welch High School. Through his leadership, Jason was a mentor to countless students, encouraging them to reach their potential and showing them the value of hard work, kindness, and resilience.
In addition to his career, Jason had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, activities that allowed him to connect with friends and family while enjoying nature. Jason was also an avid football fan, often spending weekends watching games with those closest to him.
Jason is survived by his wife, Ashley (Reisbig) Little, and their two children, Amelia and Isaac. He is also survived by his mother, Christina (Clark) Little, his sisters, Jessica (Chad) Garner and Jennifer (Thomas) Wohlscheid, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Eric Little. His parents-in-law, Edward and Adeline (Schaffer) Reisbig, and his brother-in-law, Josh Reisbig, as well as his lifelong friend Dom Oviedo, also mourn his passing.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth Street, Orleans, with Pastor James Floyd officiating. The service will be followed by interment at Woodard Lake Cemetery, 6410 Woodard Lake Road. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church, with a luncheon to follow at Shiloh Church after the interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization that Jason supported throughout his life. His work with young people reflected his belief in the power of mentorship, and this donation will help continue his legacy of encouraging and uplifting the next generation.
Jason Eric Little’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched—whether through his family, his students, or the countless individuals he mentored. He will be remembered as a man who dedicated his life to others, showing the true meaning of love, service, and leadership. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
